Dorothy H. Hulshof, 84, of Hawarden, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Memorial service was Monday, July 2, at First Reformed Church, Ireton, with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Dorothy H. Lockhorst was born Aug. 29, 1932, near Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Christina (Weyers) Lockhorst. She grew up in Sioux County, graduating from Ireton High School in 1950.
On Nov. 14, 1958, she married Melvin Hulshof. They lived on the family farm until 2000 when they retired and moved into Ireton. Beginning in 2014, she made her home at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Survivors include her husband; three children,Glenda (Randy) Van Wyhe, Dennis(Mindi) Hulshof and Lyle (Stephanie) Hulshof; seven grandchildren; her siblings, Jeanette Boogerd of Hull, Donald (Deanna) Lockhorst of Ireton, Christina (Garold) Cleveringa of Sioux Center, Grace (Herman) Oldenkamp of Orange City; her sisters- in-law, Priscilla Lockhorst of Ireton and Jacoba Hulshof of Hawarden; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Kenneth Hulshof; her siblings, Peter Lockhorst, Adrianna Bultman and Paul Lockhorst; and her in-laws, Lester Webert, Darold Bultman, Fred Boogerd, Geraldine Lockhorst, Everett Hulshof, Jacob Hulshof and Mary Ann Hulshof.
