In the last 14 months, Western Christian High School has undergone some major changes. When students come back from summer break, they’ll see even more improvements to their surroundings.

After four years of retirement, Glenda Bonestroo will return to teaching high school math at Boyden-Hull for the 2016-17 year.

Adding baseball and softball fields is the next step in the expansion of Trinity Christian High School in Hull. In July, the school’s society approved the second phase of completing the grounds to the north and west of the school.

Taking kids out of their routine, asking them to serve others and then providing an opportunity to worship God can help them develop a faith that is their own, according to Dan Elgersma, director of youth and education at First Reformed Church in Hull.

Although Coral Stark has only been at her new job at Pleasant Acres for a little over two weeks, she’s starting to feel comfortable as the new activity director. She’s still getting to know the residents and learning names.

In two weeks Boyden-Hull students will be back in the classroom but preparations for the new school year began several weeks ago.

Rebuilding trucks has become a passion for Tyler Van Der Zwaag. He started his new business, Van Der Zwaag Custom Trucks, around June 2015. He’s been rebuilding trucks and working on customers’ trucks ever since.
