Hull Christian School Parent Circle’s first Spring Vendor Fair and Bake Sale will be at the Hull Community Building April 8 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. A noon meal and childcare will be available in the community building basement.
The Parent Circle is a group of parents who support Hull Christian and its students. “We do different fund-raising activities to do extra special things for the school,” Julie Leusink explained. The funds are often used to purchase extra items for classrooms or to do appreciation days for teachers, grandparents and parents. Last year the Circle helped put in sidewalks and new playground equipment during the school’s remodel. The second-grade classroom received a digital piano that is used in that classroom and for concerts. Any extra funds will be donated to the school to help offset tuition.
The idea of a vendor fair was brought up at the Circle’s April planning meeting. Many people supported the idea as vendor companies typically have new lines in the spring. Spots at the vendor fair were offered to parents of Hull Christian School first and opened up to other vendors a week later. Currently, 32 vendors are expected.
Osborne books will also be supporting Hull Christian School at the vendor fair with a book fair. The free books earned will benefit the school’s library. “We love to build our library and Osborne has some great books for that,” Leusink said.
Leusink and Nicole Roseboom head up the Spring Vendor Fair committee and they’re excited to present this new opportunity to the Hull community. More information can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1775010879485169/.
