Gertrude Van’t Hul, 98, of Sioux Center, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.
Funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 12, at Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center, with interment in Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa.
Gertrude Olivier was born October 17, 1922, near Hull to John and Maggie (Kroon) Olivier. She went to school and later taught in the Hull area.
On March 20, 1942, she married Donald Van’t Hul. After farming a few years near Hull, the couple purchased a farm near Colton, South Dakota. In 1975, they retired from farming and moved to Sioux Center. Her husband died Feb. 12, 2006. She later moved to Franken Manor before moving to Royale Meadows in February 2019.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Bomgaars of Sioux Center, as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband; sister, Nell Nyhuis; brother, Arie Olivier, and in-laws, John Nyhuis, Nick Bomgaars and Esther Olivier.
