Warren Valentine, 84, of Sioux Center, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at Royale Meadows Care Center, Sioux Center.
Memorial service was Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Carmel Reformed Church, rural Rock Valley, with interment in Carmel Cemetery.
Warren Dale Valentine was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Doon, Iowa, son of Albert and Rose (Vos) Valentine. He grew up in the Doon area and attended Boyden-Hull public school.
On Aug. 31, 1955, he married Betty De Haan. The couple made their home in northwest Iowa and moved to Carmel in 1966. He farmed six years then started working as a carpenter. In 1972, he began his own carpentry business, Valentine Construction, in the Sioux Center area.
Survivors include his wife; their children, Wally (Linda) Valentine of Sioux Center, Arlene (Ed) Griffioen of Sheldon, Iowa, Glenda Van Meeteren of Hull, Iowa, and Bev (David) Shipley of State Center; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; brother, Pete (Harriett) Valentine of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and sisters-in-law, Marquerite Valentine of Lakewood, California, and Elizabeth Valentine of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Alvin; sister, Nellie; brother-in-law, Ed Riepma, and son-in-law, Ron Van Meeteren.
