Partners for Patriots presents a program for Aspen Heights Residents

Partners for Patriots presents a program for Aspen Heights Residents On May 24, Gerry Holtrop gave a program at Aspen Heights sharing how Partners for Patriots trains service dogs for disabled veterans at no cost to the veteran. Service dogs are brought throughout the USA to veterans in need. Iowa has 29 veterans who have dogs. Holtrop shared that he is being trained now on a German Shepard that he and his wife, Sylvia, will transport to a disabled veteran in Colorado Springs. Holtrop will spend four days training the veteran and the dog together to become true partners. In addition to his regular program, Veteran Travis Onken from Sanborn was there with his service dog Mea. Onken shared how having a service dog has changed his life for the better.
