Fast greens cause problems for Boyden-Hull

SIOUX CENTER-The Boyden-Hull girls’ golf team competed at a Siouxland Conference Golf meet at The Ridge near Sioux Center Monday, May 8, and received mixed results.

The Comets were led by Brialle Koerselman who finished with a 62. Annie Vanden Brink finished with a 74.

“Conditions were tough. I am amazed by how well some girls did,” coach John Olson said. “The greens were the fastest we had played on all year and our girls struggled with that.”

Koerselman and Vanden Brink compete in Okoboji

OKOBOJI-The Boyden-Hull girls’ golf team had the tough task of competing at Emerald Hills Golf Club in a Siouxland Conference meet Thursday and the Comets had mixed results for the day.

Brialle Koerselman stayed consistent, shooting a nine-hole round of 52. Annie Vanden Brink shot a 64. Coach John Olson did not provide comments prior to press deadline.

In the conference, Sheldon won its first meet of the 2017 season, shooting a 194. MOC-Floyd Valley was the second-place team with a 197, but scored enough points to take the regular-season conference title.
