Comets hope to build on early momentum

LARCHWOOD-As the Boyden-Hull girls began the 2017 Siouxland Conference golf season Thursday at Meadow Acres Golf Club in Larchwood Thursday, they were focused on continuing to build on their individual successes for future meets.

Boyden-Hull only had two varsity golfers on the team and, therefore, did not accumulate a team score. That said, the Comets still had some good rounds with Brialle Kroeselman leading the way with a nine-hole round of 58.

Team-wise, MOC-Floyd Valley, who won the Siouxland Conference title last season, took the meet title with 182 team strokes with host West Lyon taking second place with 189 team strokes.

“As a conference, there were some very good scores shot for the first meet of the year. Brialle started off the season well, scoring in the 50s,” said Boyden-Hull girls’ coach Jon Olson.
