Boys’ all-conference selections

HULL-Three Boyden-Hull boys’ basketball players were named to the All-Siouxland Conference team as selected by league coaches Monday, Feb. 27.

Named to the first team was Marcus Rens. Prior to the Class 1A sub-state game against Remsen-St. Mary’s, Rens was the Comets’ top scorer with an average 14.1 points per game. Rens also passed out 44 assists and grabbed 84 rebounds.

Being placed on the third team was Shane Solberg. Again prior to the game with the Eagles, Solberg was the second-leading scorer for the Comets with an average 10.5 points per contest. He was also the team’s leading passer, passing out 106 assists. Defensively, Solberg was the top rebounder for Boyden-Hull with 147 boards.

Earning honorable mention was Mitchell Diekevers. Diekevers was also averaging double-figure scoring with 10.1 points per game with a team-high 37.7 percent shooting percentage from the 3-point line. Diekevers also passed out 59 assists and placed second on the team with 97 rebounds.

    ORANGE CITY-For the second year in a row, the Western Christian boys’ golf team ended the season with heartbreak, but not all the Wolfpack were left out of the state tournament after the Class 2A District golf tournament at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City Thursday.
