2017 Combined Appeal drive begins

The Hull community’s annual Combined Appeal drive to benefit local, state and national charitable organizations begins this week. Hull residents will receive contribution forms with their water bills and rural residents will also be contacted by mail.

Donations can be dropped off at American State Bank, Iowa State Bank or the city office.

This year’s drive includes 15 charitable organizations or programs, from the Red Cross and Arthritis Foundation to the Foster Grandparent program and Hull EMTs. All of them survive on donations.

Each year Combined Appeal raises thousands of dollars for charities that benefit everyone. The people of Hull continue to generously support the organizations through this once-a-year drive.

Members of the Hull Combined Appeal committee and the groups they represent include: Darlene M. Sohl – St. Paul Lutheran, Phyl Uittenboggard – Protestant Reformed, Audrey Van Maanen – Hope Christian Reformed, Jeanne Visser – First Reformed, Bea Vande Stouwe – American Reformed, Donna Van Grouw – First Christian Reformed, Nancy Dykstra – Hull Kiwanis, Ken Boeve – American Legion, Glenda Bonestroo – Combined Appeal treasurer, Dwayne Bonestroo – City of Hull.
